Outreach
Tresillian’s ‘Outreach’ is a short term service for parents dealing with young children. Outreach includes the visiting of Child and Family Health professionals to the family’s home with the aim to educate parents. The service serves for educational matters and includes a Registered Nurse with Child and Family Health qualifications for legitimacy and reliability, a Social worker or Psychologist, aiming to provide support and advice.
Outreach is effective for parents who are unable to visit the organisation locations. The expert advice and professional skills improve the wellbeing of the family and individual parents as they have support and are being educated about their issues. The service also helps prepare the parents for their roles and responsibilities by having discussions and elaborating what they need to do in certain situations regarding health issues of both the child and parents themselves.
Outreach is primarily used by families with children aged 0-3 who are experiencing complications associated with:
-
Sleep and settling difficulties
-
Breastfeeding
-
Infant/child feeding
-
Isolation
-
Toddler behaviour management
-
Sibling issues
-
Multiple births
-
Your emotional health and wellbeing
-
Difficulties associated with disabilities/chronic illnesses
-
Difficulties associated with birth e.g. prematurity, complicated delivery
-
Adjustment to parenting issues including relationships issue
Through this service, parents and families have the ability to maintain their emotional wellbeing as they can openly discuss problems; their economic wellbeing as the service is free of charge, and social wellbeing as parents can meet new personas who are experienced and trained professionals.
